I’m very excited to share my very first contribution to Fortnite!
Upon joining the team I had the opportunity to start very early on the Chapter 6 island.
Martin Holmberg got me up to speed as we did some early blockout and preparation for production.
Through production, my main focus was as the POI owner for the Seaport City POI. I worked closely with Candice Fonville as well as Mike Gonthier, the Level Designer for the city.
My main contribution to Seaport City was on the larger buildings and the roads, while Candice focused
on the lower buildings and storefronts. As is the case with any large production like this, the
work shown here is a massive team effort, often with several people working on the same areas
or assets. Big thanks to Stephanie Ducasse and Justin Walters for coming in clutch near the end of
production with some polish to some store interiors and Brad Sierzega who did a lot of lifting on
the Level design side. Also huge thanks to Martin for the guidance and support from my first
day all the way up to shipping this massive POI.
Jake Kohler was the Asset implementer for the Modern kit. Pat Burke and Sean Thurler were
the primary folks from the Outsource team focused on bringing life to this POI.
Andy Carroll was the Environment Art Director, Justin Walters the Environment Art Lead,
providing direction and guidance and generally setting the team up for success. Tom Potter and
Paige Dugre were the production folks that supported us through development and made sure
we shipped on time!
This was a challenging but rewarding effort. I learned a lot working on this season and I’m
looking forward to taking what I’ve learned to the next seasons of Fortnite. I can’t overstate how
wonderful this team is and I’m so excited to be a part of it!
